The Fourth Turning: An American Prophecy - What the Cycles of History Tell Us About America's Next Rendezvous with Destiny
Neil Howe updates the book he and William Strauss published in 1997, The Fourth Turning, which presents a cyclical theory of history, arguing that American society moves through four recurring generational archetypes—a high golden age, a principled awakening, institutional unraveling, and chaos and crisis (where we are now) — over approximately four generations or 80 to 100 years. I find The Fourth Turning is Here very helpful when trying to understand what is happening now and bracing myself for what is to come. A key takeaway for me is that we need to strengthen our own communities as we go through very turbulent times without functioning national or maybe even state government to help us. This is why local government is so important now. Each generation has a job to do in this time of crisis. The older generation, of which I am part, needs to help guide the younger generations as they work to first survive and then build from the wreckage of the past. Hopefully, if we all do our jobs, a new golden age will come out of the current destruction.
The Righteous Mind: Why Good People Are Divided by Politics and Religion
This also has shaped my thinking for years now. If you’ve wondered how people can see things so differently, this book explains a lot. Also note that those who are Right wing conservatives tend to understand the Left far better than the Left understands the Right. That puts us at a major disadvantage. You may even start to see some sense behind why the Right takes certain positions.
God's Politics: Why the Right Gets It Wrong and the Left Doesn't Get It
Wallis is at Georgetown University and has spoken and written for years about how the teachings of Christ should intersect with government and why the Democrats should embrace that. I read this book years ago and it has shaped my thinking for several decades now. It is more relevant than ever today.
On Tyranny
This is often quoted for good reason. It is short, to the point and has been a warning call since the first Trump regnum. Always good to remind ourselves and see what it happening.
MOVIES/VIDEOS

Recommended Movies
These movies are for entertainment and a break from resisting. But they have another purpose: to remind us that the struggle we are in is nothing new. Small groups or single people resisting and struggling against evil powers is part of the human condition. It is portrayed in popular entertainment like these movies and our great myths and the story of Christ. These stories are to remind us we are part of something much larger than ourselves and to help us persist.

Sometimes it is nice to take your mind away from all the things that are going on; therefore, I have created this section as a bit of a bonus content.
